St. Gregory the Enlightener

The man who initiated the conversion of Armenia was St. Gregory, called the “Enlightener” or “Illuminator” of Armenia. Gregory was the scion of a noble family and was educated in Caesarea, then a Christian center.

What We Believe

The Nicene Creed is a confession of our Christian faith. According to Holy Tradition, the Apostle’s Creed was composed on Pentecost by the 12 apostles, and contains 12 articles of Faith, each written by one apostle.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is a sacrament by which the believer receives Christ’s Body and Blood in the form of bread and wine for remission of sins and the reception of eternal life.

Prayer

Prayer is essential to Christian life. Jesus Christ himself prayed and taught others to pray. Prayer is a dialogue with God. It can be spoken or silent, carried on in the quiet of our hearts.

Baptism

Baptism is the Sacrament through which the believer is absolved of sins, is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, becomes a Christian and attains adoption by God.

Holy Matrimony

The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony or marriage is the consecration of the union between a man and a woman for life in lawful marriage and are united together with a spiritual bond.

Funerals

Funerals mass ceremonies are the opportunity for last wishes and prayers for those loved ones that have passed and for those left behind to have a positive healing experience.
